Individual Volunteer

Connect with your community.

Volunteering is an incredible experience at Food Bank of the Rockies. Here, you join an ever-growing community of individuals who, at their core, share one very important commitment: helping others. If you haven’t volunteered with us before, we encourage you to try a shift and see how it feels. We bet you’ll soon be signing up again and again. For the companionship. For the community. For yourself.

Schedule & Tasks

Volunteer shifts are available at our Main Distribution Center:

  • Monday–Saturday
    • 8:45 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
    • 1:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m.
  • Third Saturday of each month
    • 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

We also offer opportunities to volunteer select days at our Nome Facility:

  • 1:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m.

Most of our volunteer opportunities take place in an active warehouse setting. Many (but not all) of our opportunities require the ability to move freely, stand, walk for long periods of time, bend, reach, and lift up to 30 pounds. Please notify a Volunteer Coordinator if there are any limitations (physical or developmental) that we should be aware of, so we can best accommodate you.

Our needs change daily. We place volunteers in areas as needed to ensure we are effectively fulfilling our mission.

Age Eligibility

Volunteers must be at least 10 years old. Any volunteers under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Volunteers must be 16 years or older to volunteer on their own. To volunteer in the kitchen you must be 18 years old or older.

How to get started as a new volunteer.

Step 1: Complete a volunteer profile.

If you are registering on behalf of your family, please complete a separate account/profile for each family member. Individuals under age 17 will need a waiver signed by a parent/guardian. You may use the same email address for multiple family members, but it cannot be used as a username. Click on SIGN IN or CREATE ACCOUNT at the following link.

Step 2: Schedule your first shift!

View the calendar of open shifts below to sign up for an opportunity. You may alternate between list or calendar view. Click on a particular date to view a list of available shifts and tasks. To commit to a shift, click the “Sign Up” button. You will receive a confirmation email with your selected shift and location.

Please note: We place volunteers in different areas because our needs change daily. Not all opportunities are available every day at every distribution center. We appreciate your flexibility to volunteer where you and/or your group can help us the most.

Get your group together. For good.

Volunteering as a group can be even more fun.
