Fighting Hunger at the Capitol

For the past few years, we’ve been fortunate to benefit from the generosity of some of our favorite chefs, farmer, ranchers and legislators’ generosity and talents.  On March 19th, our own Kevin Seggelke accepted a HUGE check (as you can see below) from the Colorado Ag Council downtown at the beautiful Capitol building.  We were lucky enough to sample to delectable eats provided by local chefs and hear from our friends, Adele & Mark from 9NEWS.  Click HERE for the Denver Post’s summary of this awesome day.  It’s definitely one we look forward to every year!

We’re thrilled to thank the following in-kind donors from this awesome event:  Colorado Egg Producers – $35,000, ConAgra/CO Wheat – $28,800, Western Dairy/CO Dairy – $2,000, Western Sugar/CO Sugarbeet – $250.  Special thanks to the following cash contributors, totaling $12,300:  COBank, College of Ag Sciences, CO Ag Experiment Stations, CO Cattleman’s, Colorado Corn Adm Cmte, Colorado Department of Ag, CO Farm Bureau, CO Onion Assoc, CO Pork Producers, CO Potato Area II, Colorado State Grange, CO Veterinary Medical, CO Wool Growers, Robert T Sakata, Rocky Ford plus five RFG farms, Monsanto, Premier Farm Credit, RM Buffalo, RMFU, Rocky Mountain Food Ind Assoc, United Power and Werner Ranch

All in all, $78,500 was donated to Food Bank of the Rockies and our neighbors in need as a result of the generosity of The Colorado AG Council!  Awesome.
