1 in 8 Coloradans are experiencing food insecurity, including 1 in 7 children.* Inadequate nutrition can result in troubling consequences for kids’ health at nearly every stage of childhood development.
Every county in the United States shares one thing in common: food insecurity. Parents skip meals so they can feed their children, older adults choose between buying medicine and food, and students decide between their education and lunch. These tough choices are an unfortunate reality for many of our Colorado neighbors.
The good news is that we can answer the challenge of hunger together.
Right now, Food Bank of the Rockies provides food to 1 in 9 individuals throughout our service area in Colorado, including children.
