Western Slope Food Bank of the Rockies Helps Low Income Older Adults

Western Slope Food Bank of the Rockies Now Provides Nourishing Food Boxes to Seniors at the Palisade Warehouse Every Third Thursday!

Western Slope Food Bank of the Rockies will be distributing food boxes for low-income seniors on Thursday, April 18, 2019 and every third Thursday to follow, from 2:00 – 4:00 pm at Western Slope Food Bank of the Rockies’ warehouse, 268 N. River Road in Palisade.

“We’re grateful for the support of the Town of Palisade and the Palisade Chamber. Both have helped us to make this distribution possible. We know many seniors are making difficult choices between paying for food or paying for essentials like medicine and utilities. Being able to share this resource with them is so important,” said Sue Ellen Rodwick, Western Slope Food Bank of the Rockies’ manager.

The food box contains non-perishable items provided through the USDA Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) such as canned vegetables and fruits, cereal, juice, milk, protein and grains. The box is available to adults 60 and older who meet income requirements. In addition to the boxes, seniors and others in need who may not qualify for the boxes can receive additional items donated by Western Slope Food Bank of the Rockies.

For more information, please contact the food bank at 970-464-1138. Western Slope Food Bank of the Rockies is an equal opportunity provider.
