NBC 11 News (KKCO) did a piece on what various valley food banks are doing to keep up with the growing and continuing need.  They interviewed Community Food Bank, Mesa County and us. Check it out here!

We were the January 2012 Jeans for Charity Organization thanks to the employees of The Daily Sentinel. Their actions helped raise awareness and showed how much heart they’ve got by collecting over $700!

The llamas are coming! Santa and his llamas helped collect food for us. Here is to thinking outside the box to help those in need.

Past events:

12/2011 – $10,000 donation from Chevron! Wow – it is the third year in the row they have done it.

11/2011 – Waste Management donates $4,000 to us – they are truly giving back to the community!

11/2011 – Roice-Hurst sponsored a dog & cat Toy and Treats drive! The items were donated to WSFBR for distribution in The Salvation Army’s Christmas boxes.

9/24/2011 – Fruita Fall Festival Food & Fund Drive with AARP & AARP Foundation. We collected 198 lbs of food, 20 lbs of pet food, and over $300 in donations!

8/19/2011 – “Local Lenders Life Hunger” helped collect over 1200 lbs of food for us!

7/2011  Mesa County Fair, State Farm Food & Fund Drive. We collected 1308 lbs of food and over $4000 in donations!
