In the area served by Wyoming Food Bank of the Rockies (WFBR) 53,000 people live in poverty and struggle to meet their basic food needs; 17,000 of them are children. Hunger is especially hard on children who must have proper nutrition to grow and learn.
WFBR, an affiliate of Feeding America, has been distributing food and products to agencies serving Wyoming’s needy children, seniors, and families for 20 years from its headquarters in Denver, Colorado.
To better serve the state, reach more rural areas, and increase support for agencies providing food assistance, WFBR opened a warehouse in Mills, WY (near Casper, WY) in October of 2004. From this facility, WFBR delivers food and essential household items to 34 cities and towns across the state every month.

News and Events
NERDS at WFBR
During the June 18, 2010 United Way Day of Action, the great folks from NERD Gas donated their time at WFBR. With a host of equipment, they pruned and mowed the warehouse grounds, and they even made an outdoor picnic area. The summer volunteers now enjoy an outdoor lunch under the new multicolored umbrella. We'd like to thank these wonderful volunteers, and give a special thanks to United Way for a bountiful Day of Action!
United Way Agency
Wyoming Food Bank of the Rockies was the only applicant accepted as a United Way of Natrona Co. Agency this year! We are so excited to be partnering with the United Way of Natrona Co. and look forward to working with them to reach our goals and accomplish our mission.
NALC
The NALC was a great success! 43,933 pounds of food arrived at WFBR and a wonderful group of 62 volunteers worked hard to get this food out to our agencies spanning approximately 200 volunteer hours! They set a new record of processing food in the least amount of time! Way to go!

Food Safety Training is now available online for all member agencies and their staff. Remember, at least one person from your agency must attend the online course or send proof of food safety certification from a qualified source.
