
Last year WSFBR distributed 1.77 million pounds of food and essential items. That equals 1,387,000 total meals or 3,800 meals each day for our less fortunate neighbors in need of a helping hand.

In 2000, WSFBR built a warehouse designed to better serve hunger-relief programs in the region. Last year, WSFBR distributed dry, frozen and refrigerated food, as well as non-food items to 153 local hunger-relief programs serving people in need on the Western Slope.
To reach children in need, WSFBR opened its first Kids Cafe site in July 2004. The Kids Cafe program provides hot, nutritious after-school meals during the school year and hot lunches during school breaks to low income children 6 to 18 years of age. The menus are based on USDA nutrition guidelines.

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday - 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday - 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Thanks to Grand Valley Disc Golf Club for their generous donation during this year's Ice Bowl! We appreciate your generosity year after year!
Choice Hotels makes donations and supports WSFBR all year. They recently held a kid-friendly food drive and collected items for Totes of Hope - Children.
Hickman's Eggstatic Donation made the Easter holidays brighter for many families. Over 145,000 eggs were donated to Food Bank of the Rockies, cases and cases came to the Western Slope. Kids from Hilltop's Kiddin' Around Learning Center were on hand to watch the delivery and go on an egg hunt.

Western Slope Food Bank of the Rockies distributes food through our partner agencies. We do not distribute food directly to the public. If you are in need of food assistance in Mesa County please contact Western Colorado 211 directly either by dialing -211- from a landline or 1(888)217-1215 from a mobile phone. You may also download this brochure of emergency assistance programs in the Grand Valley. If you are outside of Mesa County, we are happy to help you with a referral. Please contact our WS Agency Relations Specialist so we can help refer you to an appropriate agency.
