Denver’s Table Food Rescue Program Since 1991, FBR’s Denver’s Table program keeps nutritious surplus food from being thrown away, and instead, served through our partner agencies, to those most in need.
FBR sends refrigerated trucks to some of our area’s generous retail and food service establishments, such as grocers, caterers and restaurants.
Items that make great donations include large quantities of: * Prepared entrees, side dishes & desserts that have not been served to patrons * Unopened industry-sized containers of food, beverages, condiments, sauces, spices, & non-food items * Close-dated dairy products * Fresh meat or produce deemed aesthetically unfit for patrons, or rotated out of inventory, but still wholesome & nutritious
After our Denver’s Table representative picks up the donation, the product is safely transported to local programs serving meals to the less fortunate. All generous donors are protected from liability through state and local Good Samaritan Acts. Contact our Operations Manager or download this PDF brochure for more information.
Food Drives and Individual Donations
Thank you for choosing to assist Food Bank of the Rockies! We appreciate your generosity. Demand for food assistance is the highest we've ever seen. Did you know Food Bank of the Rockies is able to purchase GREATER quantities of food at a much lower cost than the average consumer?

With a $1 donation, Food Bank of the Rockies can provide four meals or 5 pounds of food. While we gladly accept all non-perishable food, monetary donations go much further and top our "wish list." We have many ways to help. If your organization would like to collect funds as well as, or instead of canned food, you can set up a Feeding Hope Fund Page in your organization's name, even set a goal and keep track of donations! You can also host a Virtual Food Drive to collect donations from your group!
Download our corporate tool kit filled with idea, not just for corporations, but for groups too!
If you prefer to host a food drive, we have some tools to help you make it successful.
Plan the time frame and target audience for your drive. We find most successful drives are from 1 - 4 weeks long.
Promote your drive. We have posters you can download and customize. These posters share information about donations most needed.
Fill out our food drive form so we can give you credit for your help. If you're collecting more than 1,000 pounds (about 10- 12 barrels or more than an SUV filled to the brim with seats down), you may request our help with pick up and delivery of barrels through the form.
Please note: Barrels can only be delivered and pickups scheduled for amounts collected at one single location of over 1,000 pounds. It costs the food bank about $150 to deliver barrels and pickup each food drive. To keep our operations as efficient as possible, please make arrangements to drop off donations. How much is 1,000 pounds? 1,000 lbs = about a 6' x 6' x 6' cube- approx. 10 barrels or the back and floor of a large SUV completely filled with seats folded down. When you arrive with your donations, if you let us know in advance, we'd be happy to give you a brief tour and weigh your donation. Click here for a map and hours.
Here are a few types of non perishable canned and dry goods that make nice donations: Tuna, ham, beef stew, chili, baked beans, fruit, vegetables, peanut butter, jelly, soup and pasta. Non-glass containers are preferred. Baby food in glass jars cannot be distributed.
If you are unable to drop off your donation, we encourage you to consider some other ways to help us fight hunger. We are able to turn every dollar we receive into four meals for our neighbors in need.
Drop Off Your Donations Bringing your donations to our warehouse is very helpful and saves us about $150 in fuel and labor costs. You can drop off food donations at Food Bank of the Rockies, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Tuesday evenings until 7:00 p.m. and one Saturday per month from 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Sometimes we can make special arrangements - please contact us. We are located at 10700 E. 45th Avenue, Denver CO 80239.
